Both movies are short and can make some silly hearts cry, or at least, wish that lovers and childs could be together! Kotonoha no Niwa has better art, and soundtrack. So if you like rain, stay at home and enjoy a good history, this is perfect for you :D

Same studio. Art style looks really similar, story is a bit different.Taifuu no Noruda - 2 friends Hinata no Aoshigure - boy falling in love with a girl and ending up confessing his feelings. Both animes are short, but heart warming, cute and easy.

Both are short, cute movies that blur the line between reality and imagination and involve a young boy who rides an unusual animal.

Both are short, nicely animated, quite simple, but honest and with a deeper meaning of friendship, honesty and what it means to be brave.

Hinata no Aoshigure plays off of the same child like whimsy that carries the charm in Ponyo. Strong imaginative visuals and childlike wonder are heavy themes in these movies and if you enjoyed Ponyo, Hinata no Aoshigure is worth the watch.

Same studio. Detailed, soft, but great art style. Main characters are very loud and they yell a lot, but they try to confess their love to the person they like.

Both are short movies where children have to face their insecurities and where imagination takes an important role. Both are also very sweet, cozy and adorable.

Expressing your feelings to someone you like. Great animation, nice soundtracks and story.

One of the reason that people have praised Eizouken is the imagination sequences of Midori Asakusa as she is storyboarding an anime with her anime club. Hinata no Aoshigure's climatic ending is an imagination sequence from Hinata who wants to confess to a classmate. Asakusa and Hinata love drawing and have socializing problems so their imagination becomes an escape.

Even though they're really different, what they have in common is people with their own personal problems, but they face 'em and find strength to say that they think and feel.
