Both have magical boys; although Ryuusei no Rockman is more of a magical boy "aspect" to it- it's not technically magic; but an alien fusing with a human. BinanLove takes place in a high school; while RnR takes place in Elementary (which is obviously a shota warning o/). There are a couple girls who transform, but mostly only males (Subaru, Tsukasa, ect...) transform. So technically BinanLove wasn't the first "Magical boy" anime of it's time o /

Yusaku and Subaru suffer depression and angst at one point encounter a cybernetic being whose homeworld was under attack aids them to become victorious in one battle to another. Wave Change and Into the Vrains have an identical concept where the character undergoes a transformation with the abilities of their partners to absorb anything in front of them. Both main characters are subjected to an other worldly being encounter that turns them into a hero. They as well try to keep it a secret from their close friends and/or family. Both main characters have a parent distanced from them in outer space. Both of the main characters have a strong will and determination to fight to protect. Both series have beings from another world come and antagonize the earth.

The concept of fighting in other worlds is similar, with just a small difference. Characters "Wave in" or "Burst Link" themselves to a world that mirrors the real world, while being something completely different that masks their identities while in the other world. Not only is there a similar world concept, but fighting each other is present as well as gaining unique abilities from battling experience or even from each other.

Both series have humans who are able to transform themselves with extraterrestrial powers and fight off evil. The alien monsters encountered in Symphogear can be the same applied as being viruses as well in this Rockman series.
