Synopsis

When a shapeshifting demon with a thirst for human flesh, known as "youma," arrives in Raki's village, a lone woman with silver eyes walks into town with only a sword upon her back. She is a "Claymore," a being manufactured as half-human and half-youma, for the express purpose of exterminating these monsters. After Raki's family is killed, the Claymore saves his life, but he is subsequently banished from his home. With nowhere else to go, Raki finds the Claymore, known as Clare, and decides to follow her on her journeys.

As the pair travel from town to town, defeating youma along the way, more about Clare's organization and her fellow warriors comes to light. With every town cleansed and every demon destroyed, they come closer to the youma on which Clare has sought vengeance ever since she chose to become a Claymore.

I really liked the art style, plot, and music of this, character design was great as well, awakened beings looked great, and somehow they managed to have the claymores have very distinct personalities and appearance while also looking very similar. I personally had no problem with how it ended, and I'm actually glad what happened did happen, but I do wish that it kept going for another 20ish episodes. Flushing out what the organization really is, who they are, what their motives are. Having certain characters actually continue their objective at the end when it comes to the organization. Seeing those play out may have ...

Mixed Feelings
Let's go:

This anime is perhaps the closest to a perfect beginning, a very continuous middle and a questionable ending. Honestly, the story is very good, it explains itself as the episodes progress and it looks a lot like the female version of The Witcher. The end of the anime was a little more rushed, without as much explanation as it had at the beginning and it really fooled me, but that doesn't take away from the fact that it's a great plot.

If I could summarize, I would say that the anime starts out as a very good seinen, but over time it becomes ...

Reviewing a series from 2007 in 2022 because why not.

As a fellow dark fantasy fan, I'm very disappointed, especially that there are barely any anime of this genre, we have SNK or Berserk...or Berserk... Maybe also Berserk!

Claymore is like the Witcher 3, but without the lore or its' charisma, actually only with the bounties part, or Dark Souls, but without any memorance for world design and boss fights. It's a very cheap, poorly designed souls-like with barely any story at all.

Plot:
I hate describing series as "boring", but Claymore really has barely anything interesting to hold on. Side-plots lack any meaning or bright points, they ...
