Haikyuu is my favorite and many others sports anime of the spring. If you haven't seen it yet, I would definitely recommend it. I was reluctant at first, because personally I find volleyball boring. Yeah, it's about volleyball. But Haikyuu at the moment shows a great potential and one of my favorite animes of this season. They both have similar plots. The main characters (In KnB Kuroko, in Haikyuu Shouyou) both are underestimated and seem like they are completely wasteful to have on a team. Both of them are short and seem weak, but inside they have an overwhelming power dwelling within them that  read more

Both series is about sports (Free is swimming, knb is basketball) and both has this group of guys, and some rivilary going on between them. KnB is definetly more into the shounen-genre where Free! is more of a fanservice anime, but if you liked Free! you'll probably like Kuroko no basket as well!

Both of these anime are sports-based shows that follow a uniquely skilled main character that is surrounded by impressive talent. The main character tries their best to improve their own skills not just for their own sake, but for the sake of their team, friends, and their seniors on the team who have dedicated so much. I also make this recommendation because I really enjoyed both, so I thought that others would find a similar connection between them.

to avoid spoiler ill not explain every detail.. they are both comedy, decent story, hardworking, they have some kind of powers which is really far from reality and the anime should be that way "fantasy"..

Slam Dunk and Kuroko no Basket are both sports genre anime, and as you can see, both of the anime's main subject is basketball. Kuroko no Basket's similar to Slam Dunk as because the anime both shows a competition or tournament within the region. The only difference of this shows is that; Slam Dunk is more on reality, while Kuroko no Basket is not realistic, the anime shows some weird basketball technique's which is impossible for people to do unlike Slam Dunk. Another thing why I should recommend Slam Dunk is that also has a great art, great story and great soundtracks.

While the sports in these anime are different, they both share the same kind of values espousing the merits of team work. Both anime involve down on their luck teams getting exciting new blood to reinvigorate them. In Kuroko it's new players and in Giant Killing it's a new coach, but in both the existing players must learn to get along with the new members and bond together as a team to win. Both series also have a lot of comedic moments inbetween the intense games they play.

You can feel similar vibes when they dance or play basketball. Their aura changes, they get into their zone or dancing highs and their performance increases big time. And both have some "bad ass" characters.

Both about sports, passion, deep friendship, guts and drive to achieve anything.

its based on a sport and just like kuroko no basket the games are easy to understand but keep you on the edge of your seat, also it wouldn't be anime without awesome new tennis moves.

Covers the young Shizuo (Durarara) and Kagami (Kuroko) backstories and how they grew up to be the badass they are! Also covers their rival's backstories Izaya (Durarara) and Tatsuya (Kuroko) as both characters in both series grew up together!

Both are animes that revolve around Basketball. The protagonists however differ greatly as Kuroko is seen as relatively talentless were it for not his pass abilities where as Aikawa as seen a genius and ace. Both of the schools they attend however have a wavering basketbal club that has little to no reputation. Thus the classic fight of the underdog is a clear theme in both animes.

Although both series have very different themes and over all setups and genres, I'm still making this recommendation based solely on my experience and opinion that if you liked the kind of action that leaves you gripping your seat or jaw-dropping excitement in either of these series, then you'll likely enjoy the other. I'm a fan of anime that are very high-paced, spontaneous, and leave my mind completely engaged during the show. Both these anime really fulfilled that need.

Although it's no more just an ordinary Basketball... and really different from their first season, in this second season, they have skills, both main characters (Tomoka cs & Kuroko cs) have grown from a weakling who think Basketball is just a "game play" to be some professional who desire to win for the sake of their rival (Suzuridane for Ro-Kyu-Bu and Touou for Kuroko no Basuke) with some new character (like Mimi cs, or Himuro cs), their battle looks to be more interesting.. in my point of view, i have seen some sort of Ro-Kyu-Bu and Kuroko no Basuke's same chara personality like: 1. Keishin (which is Tomoka's Elementary  read more

What makes Durarara and Kuroko no Basket similar is how they are glorified by the urban legends, The Headless Rider and The Generation of Miracles respectively. From an ordinary game or normal life, you now have one full of surprises. The group with no special powers, Seirin 2nd years, Mikado, Masaomi, Shinra are your friends and support. The group with powers Kuroko, Kagami, Generation of Miracles, Headless Rider, Shizuo, Anri, Izaya are your legends and ace.

Well, that's my first time making a recommendation, I hope this will help you ^^" : - Both are about an all boys sport club with a female manager/coach. - The character development! you can clearly see the difference between the 1st and 2nd season in both anime's! - Both are sport, comedy, slice of life genre with some drama. - Seiyuu's! Both have great seiyuu's! and you totally can enjoy the voice acting X') - Both have great art style and good graphics. - Both have great opening and ending songs. - Both are mistaken for being yaoi (gay....) while it's just a friendship show with a lot  read more

Both Kuroko and Mikado turns from passive to active. Kuroko used to just pass balls being a supporter player while Mikado used to unofficially run a free for all gang called the Dollars, but never as leader. In this season, Kuroko learns to shoot basketball. Mikado learns to act on his own as he takes on the role of leader of the gang Blue Squares and goes out fighting bad people in the Dollars. The path Mikado takes though makes him fall into depravity while Kuroko at most feels down when the opponent sees through his secret to playing ball.

The toughest 1 vs. 1 fights are present in the 2nd season. Kyouhei vs. Chikage in Durarara and Kagami vs. Aomine in Kuroko. Evenly matched and strengthed at their strongest. You also got the OP Shizuo and Murasakibara that just smashes you away!
