Don't let the titles fool you. Servant x Service and Hataraki Man can be misleading at first but comes handy dandy with its elements of surprise especially in the working field. In both series, there's an office woman who works and puts a lot of her effort at what she does whether its' benefiting the company or the public as a whole. At the same time, they sometimes slack off during breaks and occasionally gets into situations involving the typical 'office romances'. The working environment portrayed in these two series are somewhat realistic but contains a lighthearted tone fused with comedy. There's many cases in which  read more

Both animes are about working, love and problems with relationship, job and self-determination.

both anime explores the lives of writers/editors in a weekly magazine. while Bakuman is about teenage writers (guys), Hataraki Man is about a late 20's woman. Both explores the hardships of deadlines, writer's blocks and how it affect their personal lives. Comedy is of course a plus. Bakuman has the romance going for it while Hataraki is the opposite.

Both from the Noitamina programming block of Fuji TV, Hataraki Man and Paradise Kiss describe different professions but in the same way. If you want to know a little bit not only about fashion but also about journalism in Japan, and won't snore, these are a good choice. By all means the nice main characters bring these series together.

I see some similarities between Edoka-chan and Matsukata Hiroko, most of all that they are both independent modern working women.

Both anime are about a working girl dealing with work-related issues. The two protagonists have a specific persona that only activates in a situation of stress. Also, both shows have a little bit of romance and friendship.

While the protagonists of the two series have very different relationships with their work, both series focus on young women navigating the Japanese work environment. Both series provide down to earth, realistic portrayals of adulthood lightened by bits of comedy.

both are realistic josei about life in the big city for women on their way up and all the complications, romance, and comedy that goes with it........

Both are josei/slice of life that share similar themes. Focusing on the lives of 30-something working women making their way in a modern world. The tone is different (though there is some overlapping). Otona is a somber and nostalgic character study of the four different women. Hataraki Man is more 'sex & the city', but in a good way.

Both are about working theme. One in the anime industry and the other editor for a magazine. Both focus on resolving the issues of day by day in the work setting.

Both are adult slice of life about people working for quite a niche profession (Radio and Magazine company). Both MC get involved kinda suddenly into their workplace and become passionate as they go along with it. Both contain some dramas and realistic characters. They really both give a similar feeling and can teach some things by putting a spot on unusual professions.

Yomiko Readman likes to read and Hiroko Matsukata likes to write. At first glance they're really different, but somehow they have similarity in their way of living: they optimistically look towards the future and believe that something better will happen.

If you're looking for something less CGDCG, take a look at Hataraki Man. It's about a woman professional working for a magazine, and includes Kazuya Nakai of Gintama fame in a key supporting role.
