Otome games (sometimes shortened to otoge) are visual novels with a female protagonist, multiple male love interests, and story choices which lead the player down one of many routes towards a romantic ending. At their core, otome games are romance stories; however, they frequently feature an overarching side plot that is revealed slowly across each route.

Titles in this stack are sorted by most recent. Sequels and specials of TV anime are omitted. Where I've seen both the anime and played the VN, I've tried to give a brief description of what was covered.

There are many music related anime out there, but music is a rather broad term. Some anime focus more on the singing aspect, others more on the stage show, and some anime are just music videos. This stack is a collection of music related anime where instruments play a larger role. Some characters are simply learning to play these instruments, others play in a band or they use them for special occasions. All kinds of instruments are collected here, such as the piano and keyboard, violins and guitars, brass instruments (trumpet, tuba, trombone, horn, etc.), fluets and others.

The anime stack of mostly all-male casts focused on joseimuke media: idols, mobile games, (not) otome games, and multimedia projects. I won't include the sequels because the stack is limited to 50 so you gotta find them out by yourself.

The counterpart of beautiful girls and the collection of reverse harem animes that can make you fall in love. Reverse harems tend to be pure and simplistic than the original version of harem. Pretty boys surrounding a simple and ordinary girl, is one of the most young maidens' dreams.

So in 2023, I decided to challenge myself to watch all the anime based on otome games or with a game adaptation even if that isn't a good anime in the end.
I will try to play all the games even if they are just available in Japanese.
I want to share this publicly because I found that aren't that many stacks with this kind of theme and as an otome lover I need to do my job here (my English is trash sorry)

ps.: I will do the same for manga because normally manga is superior

Anime containing Italian references

- D.Gray-man: Episodes 3, 4 and 5 of the D.Gray-man anime are set in nineteenth-century Matera. Other minor references along the way.
- Ristorante Paradiso: The story is set in a restaurant in Rome.
- La Storia della Arcana Famiglia: The show has an Italian title, also almost every character have Italian words as their names. The setting is clearly inspired by Italy.
- Campione!: The blonde main character is Italian and some parts of the anime are located in Sardinia.
- Arte: Set in Renaissance Florence.
- Aria The Animation: The anime is set in Neo Venice, a faithful replication of Venice.
- Galilei Donna: Three descendants of Galileo Galilei - Hozuki, Hazuki and Kazuki Ferrari - lead a quiet existence in Tuscany.
- Gunslinger Girl: Set in Italy in an unspecified future.
- Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel: Kyun Kyun☆Tokimeki Paradise!!: It has some Italian references inside
- Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: some parts are located in Italy.
- Lupin III (2015): this series takes place in Italy and San Marino.
- Noir: Various Italian references to weapons, cities, etc.
- Romeo x Juliet: It doesn't even need to be said.
- Toaru Majutsu no Index: There are historical allusions to the Catholic Church and Italian history, palaces clearly inspired by famous palaces in Italy, some character's names are in Italian, and more.
- Blend S: Main character (Dino) is Italian, the name of the restaurant is in Italian, there are various references to Italian cuisine in the show.
- 91 Days: The main characters are Italians.
- La Corda d'Oro - Blue Sky: Italian name of the show, also there is an Italian character.
- JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Some characters have Italian names, also the fourth season is located in Italy.
- Captain Tsubasa: An important character ends up playing in Italy, also various references to Italian football.
- Ao Ashi: Main character reference the Italian legend "Roberto Baggio" and the Italian club "AC Milan" while talking.
- Code Geass: For a short time you can briefly see Dante Alighieri's famous quote "Lasciate ogni speranza voi ch'entrate" on screen when a specific event happen (minor reference)
- Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e: There are a few Italian and latin famous quotes at the beginning of some episodes
- Girls und Panzer: in the OVA if I'm not wrong, there is this odd reference to Italian fascism https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2TSdz4eRvY

Please note, I'm going to select the first season to each show but sometimes the references may only happens in sequels.

Adaptations of manga that were published by Shojo Beat. No second seasons or sequels are included, however remakes are. Some of the manga are adaptations of visual novels or light novels but this is composed of any manga that has a counterpart anime.
