After schoolboys and girls samurais and ninjas are the most common characters in anime. Their life sometimes became really hard. They have to chase different type of strange creatures and of course kill them in a very strange way. Both these films tell us about a drab existence of doughty Japanese warriors. Destroying everything on their way they find by the way their true love and reason for being. Put it in a nutshell there are two equal stories about main hero defeating everybody clamoured against them. You also could enjoy love stories in Yoma and Ninja Scroll resembled me Kenshin OVA. Another older ninja anime. If you like this one, you'll like this one.

Both are scary as hell, violent, and considered as cult movies from WAY BACK that seems totally forgotten in anime these days!

These anime are NOT for scaredy cats. These late 1980s OVAs from back then knew how to scare kids and adults alike—WAY more than today's anime series or OVAs. Both are still considered obscure cult classics among older anime fans!

Most of Onikirimaru's manga wasn't seemingly animated, though what remains still complements Youma's atmosphere.

Both '80s OVAs are set in Japan's Warring States period and feature ninjas fighting against demons. Their antagonists are voiced by the same person, and they are animated by the same studio.

Same content mainly with demons and horrorelements, though both stories are decades apart from each other. Both give sort of the same disgusting and creepy feeling time to time! Big like from me.

Youma is basically the short version of Berserk. Both are dark fantasy anime with a similar premise; we have the badass protagonist, Hikage=Guts, and his rival friend Marou=Griffith, both of whom have a complicated friendship. The protagonist seeks vengeance on their "best friend," who becomes a "demon lord" and rules over monsters after attempting to murder the protagonist. On his way to meet his "friend," he must battle several talking monsters in bloody battles. The art, particularly the monsters, looks similar. Both have the same calm and dark atmosphere, as well as monsters, sword fights, and a lot of gore.

Naruto and Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma are both about ninjas. While they both have different tones (Blood Reign is horror while Naruto is Shounen action), both titles feature a rivalry between the two main character. The relationship between Hikage and Marou in Blood Reign is similar to Sasuke and Naruto. They are both filled with action and characters with crazy ninja techniques. If you like one, you will probably like the other.
