Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!

Everybody has had that stage in their life where they have thought themselves to be special, different from the masses of ordinary humans. They might go as far as seeing themselves capable of wielding mystical powers, or maybe even believe themselves to have descended from a fantasy realm. This "disease" is known as "chuunibyou" and is often the source of some of the most embarrassing moments of a person's life.

For Yuuta Togashi, the scars that his chuunibyou has left behind are still fresh. Having posed as the "Dark Flame Master" during his middle school years, he looks back at those times with extreme embarrassment, so much so that he decides to attend a high school far away where nobody will recognize him. Putting his dark history behind him, he longs to live a normal high school life.

Unfortunately, he hasn't escaped his past yet: enter Rikka Takanashi, Yuuta's new classmate and self-declared vessel of the "Wicked Eye." As this eccentric young girl crashes into Yuuta's life, his dream of an ordinary, chuunibyou-free life quickly crumbles away. In this hilarious and heartwarming story of a boy who just wants to leave his embarrassing memories behind, the delusions of old are far from a thing of the past.

[8/10] Very Good

An amazing original story, Im a hardcore romance fan, n this anime was quite special, in the first episodes, I thought it was too cringe for me cuz of characters’ actions n reactions but today, I definitely not regret finishing it !
You easily get familiar with characters and some of them are quite relatable. This anime explores teenagers’ difficulties when they’re growing as everyone don’t have an easy transition. Personally, I thought that sometime, this « mental issue » was over-used. The romance part of it is excellent too ! The couple is sooo cute, one of my all-time fav !!!

Mixed Feelings

Generally speaking when picking anime to view I’ll read the summary and watch the intro. For some reason I chose to do neither for this anime, and simply said “that’s a cool pic I’ll watch it” and 12 episodes and a week later I’m done with it.

I thought the first 50% of the show was boring for lack of a better word. It was not until they started explaining the background and why the main female character was the way she was that the show had any sort of interest. Sadly even the darker more emotional second half of this 12 episode show wasn’t enough ... for me to say this was a good show or recommend it to others. They for sure tried to shove some emotion into the end and some life lessons but for me at least the pay-off wasn’t enough to justify watching the show.

This was really painful to watch. The core concept is about people who Live Action Roleplay (LARP). Remember when as a child, you would run around the house shooting imaginary lasers? Imagine doing that in school.... as a teenager. If you told me that beneath the cringe there is something, I wouldn't be able to argue because I cannot get through the cringe. It's like if I was watching the Godfather but in the corner of the screen there is someone pooping into a jar. Yes, I might be able to enjoy the movie if I could ignore him, but I can't do that can ... I?

There also is the aspect where the show tries to preach that fixing your faults is wrong(?) Kind of a weird lesson. Also, why is the main heroine LARPing? Are there people into that? If I put myself into the main character's shoes, I would try to dissociate myself from people like that. It makes it hard to relate to the characters.
