Nazo no Kanojo X: Nazo no Natsu Matsuri

Tsubaki and his friend Ueno are out with a group date with their respective girlfriends, Urabe and Oka. It's an episode where they get to wear a yukata. And there's a mystery involved.

As we all know, the episode involving our main characters attending a festival with a yukata is such a staple trope in romances that it can be surprising that the main series did not resort to this. I'm not sure what made them add an extra episode just for this, but I'm glad they did. It's not necessary but it's nice.

The gist of it is that Tsubaki and Urabe's relationship is put to ... the test, and their bond through their drool saved the day, thereby strengthening their relationship.

It is mostly a good episode and you would wish that there are most. Sadly, there won't be no more.

The Mysterious Girlfriend X OVA is a delightful continuation of the original series, offering fans a chance to revisit the quirky world of Tsubaki and Urabe. The OVA maintains the same unique charm and intriguing storyline that made the main series captivating.

The art style and animation stay true to the original, with its distinct, somewhat nostalgic feel. The characters continue to be well-developed, and their interactions remain authentic and engaging. The OVA provides additional depth to their relationship, exploring new facets of their bond in a way that feels both fresh and consistent with the series.

While it doesn't introduce significant plot developments, the OVA serves ... as a satisfying epilogue, wrapping up loose ends and giving fans more of the unusual romance they enjoyed. It's a must-watch for anyone who appreciated the original series and wants to see more of Tsubaki and Urabe's unique relationship.

An OVA to throw up possible false flags and confuse viewers more on the mysteries of what is Urabe in the anime. As much as the fan wiki describes her as human, I have never known saliva swapping experience give such emotional reactions, or tell me if someone has no panties on.

So we continue down the same horrible route of the anime in that way, with fox yokai involved as an idea pr so they say when testing their love, with similar body fluid swapping used by them. But no idea why saliva transfer stimulates thoughts or emotions of the other.

As ... much as is nice to see them out on a date, for a change, and symbolic signs of their connection, it just was a bit cheesy, and a bit of the usual far-fetched of this show,. so mediocre episode, for a horrible series
