Post-apocalyptic worlds, depraved characters, gore, violence and non-stop action. In both anime, you will find these themes. Also, both are the second entries in their respective film series.

Both anime have a similar world setting, violent and bloodthirsty main characters and a lot of violence and gore. They also have cool mecha designs, which reflect the violent nature of these anime.

Extremely dark and nihilistic anime, focusing on amoral characters who cause only mayhem. Both are quite disturbing and contain similar levels of violence, gore and nudity. Both are stylistically similar and also give off the same vibe and atmosphere.

Both have depraved characters, gore, violence and non-stop action. They both live in a world of brutal violence which they must fight their way through. Though Akame Ga Kill has far more of a plot, both anime can keep action anime fans entertained from start to finish.
