Ys

Both retro OVAs based on fantasy rpgs. Both also have evil wizards. Ys although is both longer and better but they are both a fun romp through dungeons and magic. 

Another high fantasy, bomb ass 90s OVA. Lots of monsters, magic, and sword play. 

Though characters are pretty different these series feel very similar to each other, particularly when it comes to monster fights and adventure. Both series display a wide range of 'boss' type monsters with many different kinds of abilities. Plus superficial similarities such as saving a world that hinges on female characters who are being imprisoned in a fantasy setting. 

from space opera to fantasy opera, both started out as computergames before it was made into anime! and they have nice opera music , enjoy! 

self made recipe :although i have only seen the y´s trailer, it seems that both have the fantasy sorcery sauce as the main thing in a la record of lodoss war salad , dipped with a touch of in y´s case a little anime adaptation, and ofc as the dessert a beautiful sweet flavored princess to be saved!(no i don't go to far ) :( 

There's a boy, who is chosen to travell across another world to finally find someone, who will make possible to change the destiny. Fantasy, I really recommend!
