Kikou Kai Galient OVA

First, this review is basically about Crest of Iron which is the new content in this OVA series and the third OVA at that. It tells a whole new/alternate version of the story where Mardoul is still a conqueror but not evil nor bald hehe

The first two are a recap of the tv series for which I may or may not put a review.

The Story is short and quite strightforward but it works for what is intended, I just wish that finding Galient was a bit different and more like digging in a dungeon like on TV version than that magical/flashy way it happens here.

The ... art is awesome with all mecha designs looking solid and gorgeous and a bit more medieval than the TV series ones and while character designs keep a similar style to the original, they are far better drawn and consistent, no deformed Hilmuka face gere. Animation is also quite smooth, specially in action scenes.

Sound is great overall with nice music that fits what is happening and nothing too new.

Characters: I miss Azuvez in this version, though Mardoul kind of picks abit of his looks and personality. In fact this Mardoul is quite lovable and a nice father figure. High Shartat and Joldy living like brothers is some interesting twist that works really well and Hilmuka looks great although her role here is mostly decorative, even more than Churull.

Enjoyment: For what it is I like it, feels like a short movie, it is interesting to see everyone looking diferent and kind of flipping things a bit with awesome mecha designs :3

Overall: It is a good anime to watch if you watched the TV show and want to see a pin off or if you haven't but just want some cool medieval armor-looking mecha and simple fantasy story with great visuals.
