Mardock Scramble: The Second Combustion

Mardock Scramble's 2nd movie and 3rd movie both half an arc about a gambler duel in a casino that doesn't play fair. Both have a lot of dialog about the psychology and mathematics of gambling, and a clever MC who beats the casino by thinking out of the box. Both animate the gambling sequences similarily. While Kaijii is purely about gambling, in Mardok it's just an arc taking up ca. 1/3 of the total plot. 

Both are gritty and futuristic depictions of society with poignant social commentary and fantastic fight sequences.  

Both contains games/gambling. The style and setting are somewhat similar. (only the 2nd half is similar and some of the third movie.)  

They have the same kind of animation by GoHands, the same character design and exactly the same way of coloring, beacuse both of them made my Shingo Suzuki. They have the same sci-fi setting with super powers, and a protagonist who has a little animal on his side, and the main characters face with enemies who are trying to kill theme. 

1. unique visualization of cyberspace (not much of it, but nevertheless) 2. occasionally grim atmosphere 3. Dimsdale-Boiled is somewhat reminiscent of the enigmatic terrorist leader Hideo Kuze from S.A.C. 2nd GIG or even Batou 4. non-rushed pace, occasional dialogues revealing life values 5. moments of intense action
