Konosuba is somehow a 2010s version of "Those who hunt the elves". Both include characters that thanks to magic appear in a "middle age-esque" world. And in both shows main characters will side with local habitants to deal with some missions that get really funny in the process. Main characters also get in trouble at least once with authority because of side effects of their missions.

Gate is best described as something akin to the spiritual successor of 'Those Who Hunt Elves'. People from modern Japan find themselves in medieval fantasy land... and they come equipped with guns and tanks! TWHE is more small-scale in terms of scope since there are only three characters that travel to a new world; armed with only one tank. And the plot is simply 'strip elves so we can get back to our world!'. Gate, on the other hand, is a modern vs. medieval culture clash series, complete with humvees, tanks, helicopters, mortars, etc being used in battles against a less advanced civilization. Overpowered humans (and a tank) from our world beat the crap out of residents of another fantasy world.

Both form a group and go on a journey. Both have magic. Both are from the 90's.While there may not be a magical cat tank in slayers, the feel i got from watching both of them was very similar. That may just be 90's nostalgia though.

Both anime follows an unexperienced team that travels around a world that resemble a high fantasy tale, but they are presented as RPG parodies. As expected, they set out on a journey were they meet villagers, listen to magic folk tales and bring weapons and magic to defeat enemies and monsters.

Both have a hilarious and arguably better English dub that has a completely different script. They especially uses edgy jokes and offensive language that wouldn’t fly by today’s standards.

Both are lighthearted adventure comedies from the 90's starring chaotic groups of friends with selfish goals causing tons of accidental destruction in high fantasy worlds. Those Who Hunt Elves has main the difference of being an Isekai, although, that isn't revealed until episode 2. Also unlike in Gokudo, the protagonists have a far more wholesome relationship.

Both shows are based on a plot revolving around accidental interstellar travel of one or more of the main characters. Both shows have a lot of slapstick, ironic, ridiculous, and bizarre humor that you can't help but to laugh at while you think how ridiculous and bizarre it seems. Both shows also have a lot of ecchi topics. While Girls bravo has more blatant nudity, Those Who Hunt Elves has more foul language. Both shows have a second season that finishes up the series but doesn't really finish the storyline.

Fantasy, Comedy, Adventure. Both have a group of adventurers with a important male lead that is all muscle no brain. Those who hunt elves is a mix of Fantasy and our modern world like guns, tanks and *martial arts (male lead)*. Rune soldier is a fantasy only anime, but the main character use alot of hand to hand combat. I can't say more for now accept that they just feel very similar and if you like one there is a chance that you will enjoy the other.

the story its a bit different but both share that the main cast was brought into a new world, need to find different pieces of magic spell to dissolve the curse and return were belong. if u liked TWHE then u will laugh with KKC

Those reserved, uptight Japanese folk need to learn how to insert lots of swearing, vulgarity and sex jokes into their cartoons. But until then, there's always the witty English dub rewriting teams who make it their duty to turn once dull, lifeless exchanges into laugh out loud material. Desert Punk Example: Junko: "...Over time, we've (women) learned to use every accessory we have as weapons." Punk: "Including birth control?" Junko: "Well, I've always found the best 'birth control' to be to simply point at it and laugh, little guy." TWHE Example: *two fisherman sit by a river* Man #1: My rod hasn't moved all day. Man #2: It will now! *naked elf floats down  read more
