Both are set in a desolate and hopeless worlds. Both are dark and can be gross at times, but they are full of hope at times. Protagonists are quite similar.

While sporting a very similar feeling for it's ending, the action scenes, the humor, that itch as well as the commentary on life, death, the people around you trough humanity it's all there, and god, the dialogue is great.
All that including the apocalyptic setting and the "Very few humans remain" deal, it's very very similar.
