Both have strong female leads however Basara's story is much more dramatic and elongated. Both have romances involving enemies becoming a love interest.
Both take place in a time period that lacks modern technology. Both have a gender-bending female m/c that is forced to lead and fight. However, Basara has more romance and less politics than Song of the Long March. Basara was created in the 90's while Song of the Long March is still ungoing. Both are very enjoyable and have pretty art.
