Dungeon Seeker does what Arifureta seemed to be gearing for but steered away from by around the 2nd turning point. Dungeon Seeker and Arifureta both start off with a semblance of horror, but at around the 2nd turning point of Arifureta, it gets cold feet and becomes a fairly robust harem story (with all the plights any story less than 800 pages per volume has with more than 3-4 characters to build along with an engaging plot). Arifureta isn’t bad by any measure, but many seem to agree they didn’t get what they thought they signed up for.
