Similar concept of overpowered characters with non-welcoming appearances being thrown into a new world. Momonga in Overlord acts as the absolute ruler of his guild, Arc in Skeleton-sama acts as a traveller attempting to break the "curse" of his undead body.
While Overlord is very character driven, along with plenty of politics peppered in, Skeleton-sama focuses almost exclusively on Arc's endeavors, while giving brief glimpses into the political world and how it changes due to Arcs' unannounced arrival. Momonga uses his powers for his own personal gain, while Arc wants to live a quiet life but keeps winding up in complicated affairs trying to help others.
