Death Mage is like a poor man's Overlord. One follows an isekai'd human turned villain who controls a group of villains, while the other follows a double-isekai'd human turned fake-villain/Hero who controls a group of villains and normal people. One starts out extremely overpowered, while the other slowly becomes extremely overpowered.
If you like Overlord you should find Death Mage a decent way to pass the time until Volume 15 releases. Just be ware that the world building and writing is far inferior in Death Mage with most things having the depth of "a forgotten country thousands of years ago."
