Very similar in which both of the protagonist are geniuses in combat and has guidance from a powerful person. They both have gotten a ring which is storing the soul of someone powerful who was thought to be killed years ago, after awakening they decided to become the protagonist master and train them throughout the series.
Both protagonist are very strong and makes quick progress, If you enjoy one you'll most likely enjoy the other!
Both MCs are from a historically powerful/influential house that is in decline. They have a ring containing the ghost/spirit of a once legendary practitioner of an art (alchemy in FBS and magic in Panlong). They make quick progress, much faster than the rest of their peers. The cliche "training-through-real-life-experiences arc" and "revenge arc" are also focused on in both. Oh, and of course the MCs have a love interest that they barely ever see.
Everything being said, I enjoyed Panlong more. In my opinion, the story is fleshed out well. We can also see MCs growth through his experiences, which I found lacking in FBS.

If you compare these with each other you wil find a lot of similarities like:
- The most obvious one is that there teachers are ghost appearing from a ring.
- They're both geniuses with a lot of potential
So if you are a fan of Battle through the heavens like me, give it a chance.
