Mute uke with a troubled past, themes concerning family issues, and sketchy art are what these works both have in common.

A blonde uke who's lost his voice bc of a childhood trauma, and a tall and dark-haired seme who helps the uke break out of his shell. The traumas are fairly similar, and so is the reason for the uke going mute. There are more similarities but I feel I'll spoil both the stories if I mention them. Suffice to say the stories are so similar that I feel Kanashii Kotoba was inspired heavily from Kimi no Koe ga Kikitai.
