I must say, that for me - personaly - the greatest similarity is one thing : I really was touched. The Endings are amazing. It gives you a very strange feeling, that nearly wants to make you cry.
Both Stories are drawn from the same person (Yumeka, Sumomo), that why I guess the touch is so euqal. Both deal with romance, but in a very special way.
These two stories are so loving, even though one hast to considerate how short they are. But I find this just gives them even more, this unique, deep and touching feeling that flows right into you, as soon as you've

They both are created by the same mangaka, so the art and the atmosphere are identical. Both of these two titles deal with a bittersweet relationship between a sad, mysterious male and a female. They will leave you with a very strange "sad but good" feeling. Personally, I prefer Kon no Ki Konoha, but if you liked one of these two, you'll like the other for sure.
