Apart from having superficial similarities (a high school setting, Shounen Ai, one dude's straight and one is gay, and sadly the fact that both manga are ongoing), what makes both so much alike is the emphasis given on dialogues, including thoughts and monologues. The flow of the dialogues is very natural, and exactly the kind of conversation you would have with a friend (or with yourself).
So if you enjoy reading manga that focus a lot on the feelings of the MCs, then they're both the perfect fit for you.
