Otoyomegatari and Vinland Saga has familiar historical context and also contains some mature themes with its story. Both series are also known for their character growth. While their storytelling aren't similar, they both feature a memorable story about its character themes in particular with relationships and their lives.
They are both seinen with a lot of character development, and they both seem to have the same feel to it, altough Vinland Saga has more action and Otoyomegatari is more romance focused.
Both are historical fiction manga with incredibly beautiful, detailed, and well-researched artwork and strong character development. However, they are also radically different works as well. 'Vinland Saga' is brooding, philosophical, and violent- every bit the 'Saga' it claims to be. Meanwhile 'A Bride's Story' is a far more relaxed 'Slice of Life' romance with only occasional visits into more dramatic territory (the difference being that we're getting a slice of life in 19th century Central Asia).
