I would have to say that these two manga are similar in the basic storyline ways. They both have the 2 girl friends that are out pursuing love or is falling in/in love. Both manga consists of the 2 girls looking for their love life, and usually one of them succeeds, but the other one has a bit of a hard time. However, in Ultra Maniac, one of the girls is a magician of some sort and it is more... lighter? in some ways? Urukyuu (Ultra Cute) may be more realistic and more deeper/sadder than Ultra Maniac.
