Both novels are quite similar, I can even say that STnBD based some things on ZnT (according to my point of view), here are some similarities:
- Both male and female protagonist bound in a Master-servant relationship
- Female protagonist being both tsundere ojousamas not very refined, both hitting the male protagonist (Louise being the most extremist), while sometimes showing their very cute sides
- A magic world with nobles
