The most important siilaritiy is that both stories take place over generations - they have a very similar feel to how you understand the story time-wise. There are other similarties such as passing on of identity and stuggle against a non-human enemy. Fumetsu e Anata e is defintely the better of the two but if you liked it then you should definitely check out Ryuuma no Gagou.
