both are bitter somber stories that have a outcast character and the bond between the 2 leads as well too as they try to make it through school.

They're both about a boy and a girl growing a bond through a difficult situation.
Just like in 'A Silent Voice' the male character in 'The Gods lie' forms a bond with the female lead by being there for her and helping her our during difficulties in her life.
Though unlike 'A Silent Voice' he's not there for her because of a disability, but more through helping her with her difficult living conditions.
This is a very sweet and emotional one shot story that I'm sure fans of 'A Silent Voice' will enjoy.
The breathtaking artwork is what tell the stories of these children. You can see the depth of her emotions in a tearful glance or shadowed by fine lines around a semi-forced smile. Mangakas use expert placement and various levels of shading to showcase the realm of grief, anxiety, fear or simple and simple frustration and sometimes even joy and warmth. The narrative is in the details. Koe no Katachi and Kamisama ga Uso wo Tsuku are not just manga you can read to get the full formal or thematic power. It is something you must experience through its visuality and art.
