The struggles of a young man who doesn't exactly fit into society and the personal drama of his life. Depressing yet rewarding reads. These manga also frequently use the greatly detailed art to depict a metaphorical scenery for the story, so althrough the plot is set in real world, the art definitely doesn't leave you bored.
Both feature very dark stories with depressed protagonists. They both have strong imagery and are heavy on symbolism. They both deal with the issue of loneliness and other existencial themes.
Trust me, read.

Both are similar. Have a persevered dream catcher's protagonist, a protagonist who is overshadowed by the issue of loneliness, dark themes such as depression, and also both tell about maturity, identity and the meaning of life.
Both have very beautiful and great art style.
- MC who is a social outcast due to their past
- Themes of longing for human connection, searching for "normal happiness"
- Depressingly realistic at times
- In terms of art: gorgeous backgrounds, heavy use of metaphor
Oyasumi Punpun has an overall more nihilistic arc compared to Kokou no Hito; however, both convey similar sentiments about life.
