- Shoujo manga with redhead heroines
- Both of them focus on the girl being stronger, but by standing on her own two feet and no relying on a guy to save her
- Both of them involve royalty and the struggles that come with being or not being royalty
- Both of them have the same "medieval" esque atmosphere.
- Difference is in AnY Yona is a princess but in AnS Shirayuki is not.

Both main characters involves a girl with natural red hair that caught eyes of many other people. They're both positive to choose their own path with the man they choose.
Both feature a red-headed female protagonist who starts off physically weak and constantly in need of saving, but over time develop their already existing traits into strengths to protect themselves/people they care about. Akatsuki no Yona focuses more on Yona's development as a character, both physically and mentally, while Akagami no Shirayukihime has a bit more focus on the romance of the story. Both focus quite a bit on the running of kingdoms and fantasy-esque politics. They each have different approaches to a similar topic, and reading them alongside each other offers differing perspectives, which is kind of interesting.
Both manga centre around red-haired female protagonists whose lives are forever changed when they are forced flee from the only home they've ever known.
