Both mangas focus on sports and romance. However, keep in mind that Suzuka is a romance manga with track and field on the side, while Baby Steps is more sports oriented with romance on the side.
Both protagonists are a complete beginner in the sport but posses a special talent that separate them from the norm and allow them to shine. They both also deal with romance, drama, and slice of life. Although both heavily focus on one genre (romance or sports) over the other, they are a must read for any shounen lover.
