Suzuka and Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou are lighthearted stories with bits of drama between certain characters. The main male protagonist develops feelings for the main female character from their first encounter. And throughout the series, they try to earn their attention. Both series' main female protagonist has a self independent personality but display toughness throughout the story. As time progresses, they do open more up to other people. There is romance in both series although Suzuka takes on a more dramatic approach while Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou consists of mostly refreshing comedy.
