Both mangas have atypical heroines, especially for shoujo, with a "dark side" that lends towards humour. Perfect Girl Evolution has more occultish elements though.
Both series have got a LOOOOT of bishie, girl with an "original dark side" and to me, when Yahiro is thinking about Kyoku and Ren, he's somewhat like Yuki, Ranmaru and Takenaga when they talking about Sunako and Kyohei.
What a super quirky heroine who gave up on love? Or how about super dense "heros" who don't acknowledge what they know? Both Skip Beat and Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (otherwise known as Wallflower or Perfect Girl Evolution). Although the plot is radically different, several key qualities.

Both stories have main female characters who have broken hearts and swear never to love again. However, in Skip Beat! instead of become a dark horror loving girl, Kyoko joins the entertainment world to surpass the boy who used her and begins to find herself while learning how to act, from the ground up.
