A School Frozen in Time and Life are two manga series set in high school that also feature harsh subjects such as suicide and self-harming (therefore a lot of blood, so proceed with caution!). The former has more of a supernatural angle to it, but it is equally as psychological as the latter with both series showing the characters getting tormented as you continue to read. Estranged friendships and things not going well no matter how hard you try are also common themes between the two.
