Both guys are parentless and have little brothers. Both act tough and cool, Usui being the popular guy whilst Hirata is the delinquent. The ladies are similarly opposed, Chiemi is the most violent girl in school but wants to stay in school whilst Misaki is the class president who acts tough in front of the guys.
Highly comical and interesting. I do recommend reading both for the romantic comedy.
