Same author, with similar slice of life and surreal moments. Both are depressing, intriguing and beautiful.
On the problems that young people live with their dreams and goals, and the fear of not being happy with what we are and what we do. Where we always see the negative sides of our society, where besides regrets, yes there are brief moments of happiness.

Oyasumi Punpun and Solanin are two notable works by manga artist Inio Asano that share some thematic and stylistic similarities. Both explore the anguish and dilemmas of youth, portraying complex and emotionally vulnerable characters. Both Oyasumi Punpun and Solanin address existential issues, growing up and the search for meaning in life, offering an honest and raw look at the struggles faced by young people. Inio Asano's unique art style and ability to create deeply impactful narratives make these two works a must-have for fans of contemporary manga.
Made by the same Mangaka Inio Asano, pretty slow at start but if you enjoy deep dark drama manga this is for you,if you get immersed enough i'm sure you will get a bit depressed through the journey but it's a really worth it.
Can be seen as depressing coming of age -like stories with heavy focus on a male character and a female character with relationships involved. (I think solanin focuses on it more by a little bit) Whether it's music or some other reasons it's a deep story with similar meanings and as a bonus, are both by Asano.
both made by the same author. while not as focused as punpun is, both mangas have great characters. punpun is a lot more depressing but solanin does have its moments that are really sad as well.
