I'm actually shocked this isn't on the top of the reccomendation list for Kitchen Princess.
The mangakas for Kitchen Princess is clearly quite heavily inspired by Arina Tanemura, particularly in her art-style. However I have an inkling that the creators of Kitchen Princess closely followed the storyline of Shinshi Doumei Cross.
The plotlines for these two manga are very similar- A girl attends a particular high school in search of her long-lost prince who saved her in her childhood in one form or another. In both, her 'prince' comes from a wealthy family while she is orphaned. Brothers are involved in both, in both the girl is

I got a similar vibe between the two stories. Both Kitchen Princess and Shinshi Doumei Cross involve brothers who have issues that are rooted in their childhood and that both feel a strong bond to the heroine of the story. Another similarity is that the heroine chooses her high school in order to find and get closer to the "prince" who saved her in the past.

Very similar to Kitchen Princess!
♥ Both series have brothers fighting over one girl.
♥ Both have the girl searching for someone. In Kitchen Princess, Najika is looking for the boy who saved her and gave her some flan. In Shinshi Doumei Cross, Haine is looking for the boy who wrote the storybook she loved so much.
♥ Both attend very rich and high class schools.
♥ Both have some sort of strict father who becomes nicer at the end.
The only big difference is that Kitchen Princess has lots of cooking and Shinshi Doumei Cross doesn't. xD
Both sharing cute art and character designs, elements of romance, a ya cast as well as the rich setting as well too.

Kitchen Princess and The Gentlemen's Alliance Cross are both drama series with intense plot twists and heavy themes, including that of parental abuse and neglect. They're both set in fancy private schools.
Kitchen Princess is more realistic and grounded than Gentlemen's Alliance, and I think it handles the plot twists, characters, and love triangle a bit better. Gentlemen's Alliance is more focused on romance overall and has a larger cast of characters.
When I was reading Gentlemen's Alliance I couldn't stop comparing it to Kitchen Princess.
