Both follow male leads who appear intimidating and standoffish but are actually gentle giants who care deeply for those around them. They both learn to face their insecurities and better themselves after saving and becoming acquainted with a sweet female lead who attends an all-girls school. They both also have wonderful friends around them who are there to help, and these friendships are very well fleshed out.
Both also involve one of the main characters wanting to pursue baking as a profession.
Both feature healthy relationships and friendships alike, and if you enjoy one, I recommend the other.
