There's an bizarre cast of characters that gets acquainted with the main protagonist from both series. By bizarre, it means non-human or rather monsters. The main premise of both series follow different directions but has similar focuses on relationship building. There is also a similarity in terms of the main male character's personalities - kind, helpful, and selfless. It's for many reasons that many girls in the series falls for them. Romance is evident as well as drama.
Do note that Monster Musume has more fan service while Jitsu wa Watashi wa presents more comedy.
