Both mangas have an overweight girl as an heroine. At one point in each manga, they aspire to lose weight due their excessive eating ways caused by a parent figure. However, both mangas do have their differences, as Pocha Pocha Suieibu focuses on the main joining a swimming club, there also is no romance involved, whereas in Pochama ni, there is romance between a girl and a boy.
