Both manga involves a popular yet cold guy who is forced to live with the girl under special circumstances. As the story progresses, it seems that romance blooms for the the two as they face obstacles, misunderstandings, and the past.
Both manga also have great artwork, stories, and an emotional roller coaster as the chapters progresses. Overall, a must-read shoujo for fans alike.
Both feature an "ordinary girl" protagonist that falls in love with the school's "hottest guy" that is cold and distant, but actually nice. Both involve the girl ending up living with the guy (Kotoko with Naoki when her house is destroyed, Aoi with Shuusei when his room gets flooded). Personally, I think Itazura na Kiss is much better executed than L-DK in terms of character development and its side characters being much more entertaining; most of them having main purposes extending beyond creating conflict between the boy and the girl, as well as not disappearing or being relegated to "nobodies" when the two mains jump
