The male protagonist is almost identical in both series: athletic-but-clumsy, a hyper-active sense of justice and fairness combined with a casual disregard for the rules, and a willingness to throw their complete heart and soul into whatever task they feel is necessary.
The two manga also share a sense of humor: moderately ecchi slapstick, premised around incredibly capable people being complete morons in the right circumstances.
