Kimi ni Todoke and Hibi Chouchou adapts shoujo to the core with their gimmicks. Both series' main protagonists explores youth during their time at school. The relationships they forge with others become a key development aspect in their development. From those relationships emerges themes of friendship and romance. There is decent amount of drama present in both series as well. They often revolves around relationships and real life problems. Recommended for fans of shoujo.
They are both love story's that revolve around a girl who lacks social communication and are a bit awkward with other people. Although, in kimi no todoke, the main character is scary and people tend to avoid her whereas in hibi chouchou, the main girl is quite popular because of her beauty but because she is pretty guys had always teased her and she stopped talking to boys and people in general.
I find them both really cute and innocent mangas that definitely have similar aspects. I believe that fans of kimi ni todoke will definately enjoy this manga too.
both are sweet and gentle shoujo manga with slow story development. In both manga male and female leads are pure and kind.
Similar female protag, but I prefer Kimi ni Todoke's execution more
