Both have a strong female lead that is pure and determined. Both male leads are also considered "popular" and friendly at school. The plots focus on school life - friendships, romance, goals, etc. Very heartwarming storylines.
Only big difference is the art style - KnT is more shoujo-esque, while StL has more seinen vibes.

both are coming-of-age stories with a "pure-type" female lead who's a bit clueless about social cues (and learning more about them along the way), while the male lead is a popular guy who's very socially aware.
friendship is an exceedingly important theme in both works, so the supporting cast is well-defined and there are entire plotlines dedicated to developing their respective arcs. both works have multiple emotionally complex, yet distinct characters.
to me, the biggest difference is that, obviously, kimi ni todoke is more in-line with classic shoujo romance tropes. skip to loafer, being a seinen, tends to be less saccharine and more grounded.

both are the kind of shoujo/slife of life that will make your heart warm.
- fun and charismatic characters;
- slow burn romance (I LOVE IT);
- well-plotted and well-developed dramas;
- NON-TOXIC male protagonist;
- female lead outside the "I'm different from the other girls" cliché;
- no female rivalry, despite the guy being popular;
- protagonist has goals beyond romance;
- the rival girls are close friends;
- main characters work well together and separately;
- character-driven story;
- an overall well-made and likeable cast.

female "friend" of mc tries to get closer to the mc's "boy" friend because they like him, they end up getting rejected, mcs start dating but things don't work out, people make fun of mc because they think the popular boy is just "friendly" towards everyone, they make the mc think bad about themselves and that they don't deserve to talk to the popular boy, male mcs don't mind if the female mcs "felt that way" about them
