Both main characters are struggling to find their real identity. They have to deal with the unwanted power that is given to them and have to live through it as they unravel the secrets and mysteries of the environment that they're currently living. Uncertainty , confusion, and acceptance.
An introverted student is unwillingly given supernatural powers by a woman which makes them have to feed on other humans. The struggle of protagonists trying to find their place in both worlds is shown. Both share the horror/psychological genre and have a similar artstyle of detailed, yet crude.
Both MC are attacked by girls and lose their humanity.
Both MC want to protect his friends.
Both mangás have violence and blood.
MC is changed into something that preys on humans, and goes through psychological turmoil.
- The synopsis speaks for itself -
- Similar tone in both manga's first chapter -
- While Tokyo Ghoul leaned more towards the action/fight part, Happiness focused more on the psychological aspect
Both focus around characters who get entagled into the world of monsters after a chance encoutner has turned them into one.

Both about a introverted teen turning into a different being. They struggle to find themselves and strive to protect the ones closest to them. Also many gory and bloddy scenes. Both great overall.

they both involve two young men suddenly finding themselves as more than human. the story contents are two separate beasts but the overall tone of the stories are very similar.

A boy's life is turned upside down by an older, beautiful woman who is actually a monster. The boy has a friend who stays aside after he becomes a monster and he meets another girl who becomes a dear friend (perhaps love interest).
The protagonist has crises trying to understand whether he is human or a monster.
I love stories like this.
