Similarities:

'Boyfriend' is shorter, more fast paced and with more drama to it (nothing excessive, it's just that 14-sai has basically no drama whatsoever), while 14-sai is still ongoing, gives off a bit more of an innocent vibe, and focuses on the small little things (and in between also sheds some light on the side characters).
