Both series begin with our main character being in prison, fighting various overpowered inmates until they make a prison break. Afterwards, both mangas feature a hunt for the series villain & climatic battles with very similar endings that emphasizes tragedy. Riki-Oh is inspired by Fist Of The North Star, displaying mutant like enemies, cyborgs, violent fights & supernatural powers. Stone Ocean is feminine with a team of characters but holds the same brutality & insanity as Riki-Oh.
