In both series, we have a shy girl who attracts little attention until the main male protagonist notices them. From there on, they develop a close relationships as the girl opens up to others. Both series contains romance in a school life setting resulting love triangles, drama, and other shenanigans.
They are both about a shy girl who doesn't socialise with her classmates and how she begins to have a friendship with the popular guy of the class and eventually be able to socialise with the rest of the class after gaining confidence from being with that guy

Koko ni Iru yo! and Hiyokoi are quite similar. In both the FL is a shy, introverted girl with very few friends, they were even both in accidents before. The ML is the resident good looking, popular boy of the school. They both have school setting and are generally about the FL growing as a person and making new friends along the way. And obviously like any good shoujo have an adorable romance :)
