Both stories are about two men raising a child together.
In Koishite Daddy, it's a divorced father, his kid and their neighbour , and in Sannin Gurashi, it's two brothers and the older brother's boyfriend.
Then, when the kids get on highschool, they also end up dating another boy (in Koishite Daddy, that part is in a spin-off called Love Kids).
