D Gray-man and Kuroshitsugi (Black Butler) may have different premises but consists of many similar concepts. Perhaps the first is their setting with Victorian style architectures. There are also fantasy themes involved such as demons and apparitions that the protagonists must deal with. Throughout both series, the stories also become more complex as we learn more about the main characters and various mysteries going on. Recommended for fans of supernatural fantasy.
Both stories are centered around demons. The main characters have a strong connection with the demons and another supernatural creatures that appear during the story, as well as a dark and sad past (and because of the past they also have a mark of a curse in their eyes). Both mangas also have the same atmosphere in lot of scenes, many tragic moments, and they're setting in almost the same era/period of time. As soon as the first plot twist start, you can't stop reading!

both have a huge plot twist regarding twin brothers and a mystery surrounding them
both become mystery boxes that slowly drip feed backstory
both have a huge wide worldbuilding where if everything is touched upon, it would reach one piece level of chapters
